§ Migrate from Superwhisper
Migrating from Superwhisper
Both apps are local-first dictation on Mac. The main upgrades in Dettivo are bundled meeting capture, the developer surface (CLI + REST + MCP), Quick Note to a folder, and explicit context-aware Enhanced mode. The migration is light — most muscle memory carries over.
Who this is for
Superwhisper users curious about Dettivo, or upgrading because they need meeting capture, agent integration, or Obsidian-friendly Quick Note.
What maps cleanly
Local STT, hotkey-driven capture, direct insertion, custom dictionaries, replacement rules. All present in both. Settings › Models is the analog of Superwhisper's model picker.
What Dettivo adds
Meeting capture
System audio + mic, diarization, AI analysis, recap email automation.
Developer surface
CLI, loopback REST adapter, stdio MCP server.
Quick Note
Separate hotkey to dictate to a folder (your Obsidian vault).
Context-aware Enhanced
Frontmost app + selection + (opt-in) window screenshot for app-aware polish.
