Snippets

Trigger-to-expansion rules. Say a short phrase, get a longer string inserted. Configured in Settings › General › Snippets. Distinct from dictionary terms (which help with spelling) and from macros (which can run commands).

Who this is for

Anyone with repeated boilerplate — signatures, common URLs, footer lines, frequent phrases — that does not warrant a full macro.

Add a snippet

    Open Settings › General

    Scroll to Snippets.

    Settings › General › Snippets

  2. 02

    Click Add

    Trigger field on the left, expansion on the right.

    Save

    The snippet applies to the next dictation session. No restart needed.

When snippets fire in the pipeline

Snippet expansion runs during Polish, after dictionary substitutions and replacement rules, before punctuation normalization. They are deterministic — same trigger always produces the same expansion. They do not run in Raw mode.
