Dettivo exposes a single IPC contract over a Unix socket. Three surfaces consume it: the bundled `dettivo` CLI, a loopback REST adapter on 127.0.0.1:45831, and a stdio MCP server. Everything one can do, the others can do.

Developers picking which integration surface to use. Architects evaluating the security model before deploying Dettivo across a fleet.

Best for non-shell languages, local web tools, long-running jobs (streaming endpoints).

The shared contract

~/Library/Application Support/Dettivo/

Unix socket IPC: dettivo.sock, mode 0600, peer UID authenticated. Optional hardened token mode.
Token lookup order: Env (DETTIVO_TOKEN) → Keychain → ~/Library/Application Support/Dettivo/ipc.token.
JSON-RPC 2.0: Wire format for all IPC calls. Documented in the app repo's api/ folder.
No cloud: All surfaces are localhost. There is no Dettivo cloud API.
