Install Dettivo

Local-only

Download the latest signed and notarized build, drag Dettivo.app into /Applications, launch it, and let onboarding walk you through license + permissions. Dettivo requires macOS 14 Sonoma or newer on an Apple Silicon Mac.

Who this is for

First-time installs and Macs that have been wiped. Existing installs update themselves via Sparkle — you do not download new builds from the website on every release.

System requirements

Apple Silicon required. Dettivo uses Apple Neural Engine paths for WhisperKit and MLX-based polish models. Intel Macs are not supported.

macOS 14 (Sonoma) is the minimum. Some meeting-capture paths use Core Audio system-audio taps that only exist from Sonoma onward; older versions are not supported.

About 1.5 GB of disk space for the app plus bundled MLX models. Downloaded local models live in Application Support and can be removed from Settings › Models.

Install steps

    Download the disk image

    From dettivo.com/download or from a recovery email. The file is signed by Developer ID and notarized by Apple — Gatekeeper opens without an override prompt.

  2. 02

    Drag into Applications

    Open the .dmg, drag Dettivo.app into the Applications symlink. Eject the disk image.

  3. 03

    First launch

    Right-click → Open the first time if Gatekeeper challenges you. Onboarding launches automatically.

  4. 04

    Activate + grant permissions

    Paste your license, then walk the permission flow. You can skip any permission and grant it later from Settings › Permissions.

Where Dettivo stores its files

Every artifact path is shown in Settings › History. You can delete any of these without breaking the app — Dettivo recreates folders on launch.

~/Library/Application Support/Dettivo/
Bundled and downloaded models, dictation/meeting history, security-scoped bookmarks, and the IPC socket.
~/Library/Caches/Dettivo/
Provisional transcripts and pre-finalized analysis output. Safe to delete; Dettivo rebuilds.
~/Library/Keychain/
License key, hosted-provider API keys, and the optional REST token. Removed when you click Clear in Settings.
