Dettivo

§ Troubleshooting

Meeting audio missing

Requires permission

For missing participants, check Screen & System Audio Recording and the app capture target. If your own voice is missing, check the microphone selection and use Follow System Default when you move between docks, AirPods, and the built-in microphone.

Who this is for

Anyone whose meeting recording is missing the other participants, their own microphone, or both.

Fix path

  1. 01

    Confirm permission

Settings › Permissions → Screen & System Audio Recording row.

    Settings › Permissions

  2. 02

    Switch capture target

In the menu bar (Meeting mode), confirm System Audio is on and Capture All Apps is on. Per-running-app capture only records that specific app's audio.

    Menu bar

  3. 03

    Check the microphone input

Settings › General › Audio → Microphone. Choose Follow System Default if your Mac regularly moves between a dock, external webcam microphone, AirPods, and the built-in microphone. Dettivo falls back to the current macOS default and warns you if a specifically selected microphone is unavailable.

    Settings › General › Audio

  4. 04

    Try re-running transcription

If audio was actually captured but transcription dropped it, the raw audio is in the meeting's artifact folder. Meetings workspace → More menu → Re-run Transcription.

    Meetings workspace

  5. 05

    Check Change Meeting Engine

Some STT engines require timestamps to attach speaker labels. If you see a Change Engine button in the workspace, switch to a timestamp-capable engine and re-run.
