Hotkey not working

Requires permission

Almost always Input Monitoring permission. Less commonly, a chord conflict with another app. Open Settings › Permissions → Input Monitoring → Open Settings, drag Dettivo into the allow list, restart Dettivo, try the hotkey again.

Who this is for

Anyone whose Push-to-Talk, Toggle Dictation, Capture Note, or Quick Access hotkey fires no response.

Fix path

    Open Settings › Permissions in Dettivo

    Check the Input Monitoring row status. Green is granted; anything else needs action.

    Settings › Permissions

  2. 02

    Click Open Settings on the Input Monitoring row

    macOS opens System Settings › Privacy & Security › Input Monitoring.

  3. 03

    Add Dettivo to the allow list

    Drag Dettivo.app in from Applications or click the + button. Confirm with Touch ID or your password.

    Restart Dettivo

    Input Monitoring requires a relaunch to apply. Quit fully and reopen.

  5. 05

    Test the hotkey

    Press Push-to-Talk. The mic level overlay should appear.
